Welcome to RMIC: We of RMIC are committed to discovering, inspiring, training and facilitating those in the Kingdom of God who are gifted in business, to exercise those gifts in the expression of their calling, as part of the whole church taking the whole gospel to the whole world. The basic dream: RMIC was recently founded in the spring of 2004. RMIC is the continuation of the ministry goals and dreams of experienced missionary leaders Zester and Marilyn Hatfield. Zester and Marilyn Hatfield went to Mexico as young missionaries in the spring of 1961 and they have over 20 years experience in that country. They also have their own Business as Mission, an accounting and IRS remediation company, Hatfield & Company, Inc. They have six children and 21 grandchildren. RMIC is the catalyst and organizational tool for spearheading their renewed focus on realizing some of their original missionary objectives. The Hatfield's laid down both standard missionary foundations in church planting, caring for homeless children, building an orphanage, a private Christian school and sowed the seeds for future Business as Mission development. During these earlier years in Mexico they were able to set up a vocational trade school, teach economics and inspire young people to establish their own businesses and become new Christian entrepreneurs in Mexico. Some of these young people have become very successful church and business leaders and are now developing new mission points to also teach other young Mexican men and women these same spiritual values and principles. Surrendering to Purpose with Faith - Jeremiah 29:4-7: "This is what the Lord Almighty, the God of Israel, says to all those I carried into exile from Jerusalem to Babylon: 'Build houses and settle down; plant gardens and eat what they produce. Marry and have sons and daughters; find wives for your sons and give your daughters in marriage, so that they too may have sons and daughters. Increase in number there; do not decrease. Also seek the peace and prosperity of the city to which I have carried you into exile'"(Jeremiah 29:4-7, NIV). Even as God called the Israelites to be productive and to bless the country of their captivity, so God is calling many Americans and many others from different countries all over the world, to recognize the gifts for business that they have been given, to reject their fears of failure and surrender themselves to this purpose in faith. It is time to lay down our fears of sin and unbelief and to step outside, into the competitive world of business, to allow God to work in us to bring honesty, integrity, quality craftsmanship, work ethic and fair weights and measures into the third world. As an example, if the whole gospel had been taught to the whole man of Mexico from the first missionary until the present, we would not be seeing 500,000 illegal immigrants crossing our southern border every year. The message of the cross was successful for this group, but they have never heard the message about the victory after the cross, the victory to disciple the nations through the fulfillment of the parables of the talents and the minas. These are the parables of Christ's entrepreneurs of faith and grace who overcome and who bless the nations, bringing about the will of the Father here on the earth. Most of the hundreds of young people who were ministered to under the Hatfield's leadership, who later became business owners and professionals, are still in Mexico raising their families and teaching others. Some have come legally to the United States and have businesses and are professionals here. Bringing the whole gospel to the whole man of Mexico and beyond will require much more than what has normally been considered satisfactory mission ministry. The challenge before us today is to turn the tide of spiritual and cultural ignorance back and to establish firm foundations in third world countries of Christ's whole gospel and this requires implementation of new tactics. Theoretical teaching is good but not good enough. Nothing less than successful implementation by native men and women of all God's promises for victory over both the spiritual and cultural ignorance will do! To assure this outcome, young men and women of faith and grace must be taught entrepreneurial skills, given the opportunity for gaining experience and mentored into capital acquisition to fund their efforts. This is not welfare this is business of the highest integrity, offering trades and services for profit. The expanded dream: As a result of the strong testimony among hundreds of pastors and church leaders in Mexico, RMIC has an opportunity to take bold steps and use new tactics to break the old cycle of one dimensional mission work. RMIC has developed training and equipping concepts for native young men and women to be Business as Mission missionaries for their own country. RMIC's Business as Mission Training Center: Currently RMIC has property in the Sacramento Mountains in south central New Mexico, USA, where we are making plans for a large missionary training center. This center will be comprised of several diverse but compatible operations. In addition to the daily need for shelter and sustenance there will be a complete curriculum of bible and character building studies. There will also be theory classes in many different vocational skills. More importantly there will also be real on the job work and training to put the class room work into practice. These jobs will be managed by our own independent companies that will work in conjunction with the training center. The mountain community where this will all take place is high mountain country with four seasons, lush timber and more remote than most other communities in this part of the state. It is ideal for the kind of training center we are putting together. Each student will attend under a student visa and will have part-time working privileges. Each student will have fifty percent of their income deposited in a capital savings account. Each student will be paid the going rate for the position they fulfill, in the trade and or service they are working. The required qualifications for the individuals who apply is for them to be first Christians and also to have a good testimony within their own family and local church community. Secondly, formal education of at least the elementary level is necessary but advanced education, although appreciated and accepted, is not required. A successful period of monitoring some training, orientation and testing for general knowledge, Christian principals, moral foundation and work ethic will precede any official enrollment in the complete program. This is all done in the community of residence of the individual making application. The complete training, entrepreneurial skills and capital acquisition program will all be done within the USA. There is a large packed gravel and dirt airstrip, 5,000 feet long at an elevation of 6,830 feet above sea-level. From this high mountain strip we will train native Mexican men and women to be missionary bush pilots. After they earn their pilots license, part of their training will consist of performing many hours of co-pilot flying duty, to service the greater Sacramento Mountain communities. This mountain flying will prepare them for their more difficult challenges as bush pilots in Mexico, serving in the ministry. Small planes are one of the key elements of access to many of Mexico, Central and South America's most rural areas. So, this aspect of our mission outreach is critical to our overall success. All the various company and training positions will be filled with qualified professionals from the ranks of the many men and women who are seeking to fulfill their goals and dreams of service and ministry. The whole Sacramento Mountain Range is filled with many communities that need skilled labor for new construction, remodeling, maintenance, forestry, logging, small business services and small plane transportation service. Our training center will train dozens, then hundreds and even thousands of young Mexican men and women from mountain villages and rural areas. After two to three years when their training is over, we will return them to their villages with new skills and with new business capital to provide for their new entrepreneurial adventure. The personal and financial mentoring will be carried over into their return to their native communities where they will be furthered assisted and supervised in the establishment of their new businesses. There will be ongoing supervision for the use of their capital and for assisting each one to assure that they are as successful as possible in their new endeavors. Rejoining their local congregations, family and friends, they will become very key elements in the future spiritual and economic growth of their communities. They will take with them the team support, experience, knowledge and spiritual maturity to be leaders, goal setters and visionaries, in Christ's Kingdom. They will be inspired to teach everything they have learned to others within their community. RMIC will need many individuals to join us and to be a part of this new chapter in missions. We hope and pray that some of you will one day join us in this great undertaking. RMIC is one of your ministry and missionary options, and in this case even to utilize your own BAM Company as part of the team. To learn how see Business as Mission.
